FAQ
The future of PEAK
With the release of the Citadel and Gloom biomes, PEAK has now received its final major update.
As we’ve said since the beginning, PEAK isn’t a live-service-game. We intended to release a game that was “finished” on launch, and any major content updates would be the cherry on top. Due to the game’s overwhelming success, we’ve already spent quite a bit more time on it than we originally expected, and added so much more to it! We don’t wish for it to become a “forever game” where we constantly add new things that bloat the experience, just to try to keep people’s attention.
A small team develops PEAK, made up of developers from two studios, Aggro Crab and Landfall. As much as we all love the game, we want to return to working on our own separate projects.
But PEAK isn’t going anywhere!!! You’ll always be able to keep playing it, and we will continue to provide bug fixes and maintenance until we are satisfied with the game’s stability.
Other platforms?
We are currently working on bringing the game to consoles!
PEAK is going to be cross-platform, meaning that anyone who picks up the game on console will be able to play with the existing Steam community, as well as any other console platforms. More news will be coming later this year!
What about mod support?
We love that people are making mods and adding what they want to see in the game, and we consider this an especially important part of the experience once we’re no longer pushing major updates ourselves. After discussing it with the modding community, we decided not to implement tools like Steam Workshop, as many modders prefer other tools and it isn’t possible to use the Steam Workshop cross-platform. That said, we remain supportive of modders who want to create cool things for the community. We try to help when we can, and have been sharing some source code with modders to make it easier to mod the game.
If you want to play PEAK with mods, we recommend checking out the unofficial modding Discord to see the amazing work done by modders:
https://discord.gg/SAw86z24rB (This discord is unofficial and is not moderated by Aggro Crab or Landfall)
Is there matchmaking?
No, PEAK is a Steam-friends only game. If you’re lacking in the friend department, you can play solo or join our discord http://discord.gg/peakgame
Can I play single-player?
Yes, you can play single-player offline!
I want to rebind my keys
You can now rebind keys in-game!
I get motion sick while playing PEAK
We’ve added an option to reduce head bobbing to help with motion sickness. We can also recommend this mod which lets you play in third-person: https://thunderstore.io/c/peak/p/LeftOut/StableThirdPersonCamera/
Is there a bug phobia/arachnophobia mode?
Yes, you can switch out all arachnids with Bing Bong! If you have bug phobia mode enabled it will always be turned on for you, even if you join a game where the host has it disabled.

A random player joined my lobby without being invited
When you play with strangers or stream the game, people might sometimes come into your lobby to grief.
If this happens, please have the host kick the player - if you do they cannot rejoin their game.
To prevent random players from joining uninvited, you and everyone in the lobby should set Lobby Mode in the settings to Invite Only. For extra protection, you should also set your Steam profile to Private to stop others from searching you up on Steam and joining. If you're a streamer, we also recommend having a separate name for your Steam profile that you don't show on stream, as this is a common issue across many games.
Please remember to re-host the lobby after changing these settings.
It’s unfortunately difficult for us to safeguard against lobby invasions. Steam has a feature where others can join through your profile, which is great for people wanting to invite strangers into their games but not so great for those who doesn't. Setting your lobby and Steam profile to private should increase your protection. We use Photon for server relays, meaning your IP address should not be visible to invaders.
If someone is able to invade your lobby even after taking these precautions, it would be really helpful if you could send us your player log so that we can investigate further (see steps below).
Where do I reports bugs/Where can I get support?
You can report bugs in the Steam forums or on our Discord server: http://discord.gg/peakgame
You can also reach out to us directly if you have any issues: support@landfall.se
Screenshots, videos and player logs are always very helpful! See below where you find your player log.
Where to find player logs
When reporting bugs to us, player logs are useful as they help us track down the issue!
The log only contains info from your latest game session, so get the log right after the issue has occurred in the game. It can be found here:
Press the Windows key + R and type appdata into the prompt that appears. Then navigate to LocalLow\LandCrab\PEAK > locate the file called “Player” and send it to support@landfall.se
Troubleshooting
The game isn't receiving inputs properly
If you're experiencing issues where inputs aren't registering properly, such as the character stopping despite W being held down or the mouse being pulled toward the center of the screen, then check if you have any controllers or similar peripherals (like a joystick) plugged in or connected to the computer. If so, try unplugging/disconnecting it and launch the game with only mouse & keyboard.
Textures are not loading properly in the airport
This can unfortunately happen if your GPU is below the minimum requirements for the game. You can try the following and see if that helps: Right-click on PEAK in your Steam Library > Properties > Launch Options > Add the following: -gpuCulling false > Then start the game using DX11/12.
The game has no audio/Can’t hear other players
Double-check that the sound hasn’t been muted in the game, sometimes the volume gets set to 0 due to a bug.
Troubleshooting for disconnection/Photon issues
Keep in mind Steam servers go offline every Tuesday for routine maintenance, but if the issues persists beyond that please try these steps:
Exclude the game in your antivirus
Restart your computer and verify your game files in Steam: Right-click on PEAK in your Steam Library > Properties > Installed files > Verify integrity of game files
Make sure you have a stable internet connection
Try shutting down any other programs while playing, something might be interfering with the game in some way
If you’ve installed any mods for the game, try removing them completely (also check the game installation folder to make sure all mod files are gone, like BepInEx folders)
Restart your router
Check if you have a program called cFosSpeed. It's comes with certain motherboards and can cause issues with Photon - other players have reported that it helps to uninstall cFosSpeed
Make sure you are friends on Steam with everyone in the lobby: We believe the disconnection issues can happen if anyone in the group has set their Steam profile to “Friends Only” and you are not friends on Steam. Check here > Go to your Steam Profile > Edit Profile > Privacy Settings.
Try playing with/without a VPN
Take a look at https://landfall.se/troubleshooting for potential fixes
Run the game as an admin:
Right-click on Peak in your Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files
Right-click on PEAK.exe and select Properties, then select the Compatibility tab
Check “Run this program as administrator” and click OK
If you are located in Russia - due to government restrictions, some internet providers block certain IPs which prevents the game from connecting to the Photon servers. You can try reaching out to your internet provider and see if they have more info on this. For some it has helped to use a VPN, this and this guide may also help.

Try having the game and Steam installed on the same hard drive
Exclude the game in your antivirus software. Also, certain antivirus software (not Microsoft Defender) can cause issues with different games, sometimes it may help to temporarily disable or uninstall the antivirus to troubleshoot and make sure it's not preventing the game from running properly.
